Is homosexuality a sin or not?

The question posed here is not negotiable in most cultures, and most denominations don't tolerate the act of homosexuality. The Muslim cultures have generally perceived homosexual behavior to be highly sinful, even by the christians the act is not tolerated neither is it supported by the Jewish own doctrines. The doctrines of the christians proves that both Jesus Christ and all of the Bible scriptures approves of no other sexual relationship or union other than that of a man and a woman, which is the husband and wife.

The below listed verses/ scriptures is cited by christians as references to what the Bible says pertaining to the act of homosexuality.

- Genesis 19:1-29 (the sinfulness of Sodom and Gomorrah): This is where the story of the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah plays out. These whole Bible portion of the scripture in Genesis made emphasis on the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, most scholars conclude that the destruction of the two cities was as a result of the ugly acts of the people, which was mainly on same sex practice ( gay and lesbian) as seen in Genesis 19:1-11. Biblical scholars refer to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah as homosexuals.

- Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 : The book of Leviticus is accountable for two major references that plainly condemns the act of homosexuality. The first one is stated on Leviticus 18:22- " No man is said to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that. The book of Leviticus went on further in chapter 20 vs 13 to say " If a man has sexual relations with another man, they have done a disgusting thing and both shall be put to death. They are responsible for their own death. The regulation book( Leviticus) made a blunt reference on two occasions concerning homosexuality and homosexuals.

- 1Corinthians 6:9-10, and 1Thimothy 1:10 : In the book of 1Corinthians apostle Paul confirmed the act of homosexuality to be evil in the sight of God, he stated this when he said "Surely you Know that the wicked will not possess God's kingdom. Don't fool yourselves; people who are immoral or who worship idols or are adulterers or homosexual perverts, or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves - none of these will possess God's kingdom. Likewise In 1Timothy apostle Paul also emphasized on the same issue of homosexuality.

- Romance 1:26-27 : Scholars believe this portion of the new testament to be the key passage on the practice of homosexuality in the Bible. Here, Apostle Paul writes to the people of Rome, in Romance 1:26-27 " Because they do this, God has given them over to shameful passions. Even the women pervert the natural use of their sex by unnatural acts. 27 " In the same way the men give up natural sexual relations with women and burn with passion for each other. Men do shameful things with each other, and as a result they bring upon themselves the punishment they deserve for their wrongdoing.
